This is so cool:) my apple snails are eating the hair algae in my aquaponic system! i have issues with this stuff in this one grow bed and they seem to be the answer!. Algae are common and natural in aquaponics system. in a balanced aquaponics system that is running smoothly , the algae population should be stabilized. when existing as a stable population, such as a very thin slime on the water surface or at the sides and bottom of the tank, algae is actually beneficial to the system as it is part of the ecology.. Some commercial aquaponic farms have already gotten usda organic certifiable. uses 60%-70% less energy you save money and time with this system. the only energy involved in an aquaponic farm is electric energy to circulate water..
